Lax.com expects to see a substantial expansion of its scope in the lacrosse marketplace, acquiring one of its chief competitors, Universal Lacrosse. The company said the acquisition combining the Lax.com and Universallacrosse.com sites makes Lax.com the largest e-commerce and team dealer dedicated strictly to the sport of lacrosse. Lax.com will also be acquiring Universal’s 10 retail stores.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Looking ahead to the remainder of 2024 and beyond, the company said Lax.com’s growth trajectory will be guided by the collective efforts of the veteran teams, united under a shared vision of success.

Universal’s 10 retail stores will continue under the Universal name and Lax.com and Universal will continue to run separate e-commerce platforms. Universal’s team sales division will move under Lax.com.

Additional details on the new combined business are expected to be available in the coming weeks.
