Fubo Gaming Partners With Cleveland Cavaliers as Ohio Ponders Legalized Sports Betting

The Cleveland Cavaliers have become the first NBA team to partner with Fubo Gaming, the sports betting subsidiary of the FuboTV streaming service. The long-term marketing deal makes Fubo Gaming the presenting partner of Cavs Pick ‘Em, the free-to-play prediction game on the team’s mobile app.

Sports betting is currently illegal in Ohio, although this deal allows Fubo to gain brand awareness in the state ahead of potential legalization. Fubo Gaming’s brand will appear on signs inside Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse this NBA season and across the Cavs’ TV and radio broadcasts, as well as its social channels.

“We are proud to team up with Fubo Gaming and help bolster their brand presence across the greater Cleveland region, all over Ohio, and with our fanbase for many years to come,” Shelly Cayette, the Cavs’ SVP of global partnerships, said in a statement.

Fubo’s mobile sportsbook expects to launch later this year, having secured market access in New Jersey, Iowa, Arizona, Pennsylvania and Indiana. The company went public on the New York Stock Exchange in Oct. 2020 and recently added a betting lounge inside MetLife Stadium through its deal with the New York Jets.
