5/3/2024 |  Woods accepts special exemption into U.S. Open (Reuters Sports) May 2 (Reuters) - Tiger Woods has accepted a special exemption into next month's U.S. Open at North Carolina's Pinehurst Resort and Country Club, the USGA said on Thursday.
Woods, who counts three U.S. Open titles among his 15 major championships, most recently competed at the Masters in April where he finished last among the 60 players who made the cut at Augusta National Golf Club.
"The U.S. Open, our national championship, is a truly special event for our game and one that has helped define my career," said Woods.

5/3/2024 |  Report: Golf Apparel Sales in Specialty Market Fall in Mid-Teens in Q1 (SGB UPDATE)

Golf Datatech (GDT) reported that golf apparel sales were down over 10 percent in on-and off-course specialty stores in March 2024, with first quarter sales trend down in the mid-teens.

Every product category was lower in March of 2024 vs. the March 2023, with double-digit declines across five of the nine segments tracked by the market research firm.

March golf apparel sales declined 10.5 percent year-over-year in on-and off-course specialty stores, but still maintained a nearly 30 percent increase against the last pre-pandemic March period in 2019.

5/2/2024 |  LIV Golf to Host 2024 Individual Championship in Chicago (SportsTravel) Bolingbrook Golf Club in the Chicago region will be the host for LIV Golf’s 2024 individual championship from September 13–15 as the organization will end the year with six events in the United States.
The event will see players compete for final positions in the individual standings and the title of 2024 LIV Golf League Individual Champion. It will also determine team seedings for the 2024 team championship.

4/30/2024 |  Bolingbrook Golf Club to host LIV's individual championship (DEADSPIN) LIV Golf's 2024 individual champion will be crowned at the Sept. 13-15 LIV Golf Chicago event at Bolingbrook Golf Club.
"The passionate sports fans of Chicago have embraced the intense competition and fan-first experience that LIV Golf delivers, and this year it will be an incredible setting for a high-stakes event as players battle it out for the individual title and a roster spot for 2025," LIV Golf commissioner and CEO Greg Norman said in a formal statement Tuesday.
