The NHL Sharks play at the HP Pavilion at San Jose. The name was originally the Compaq Center, but was changed when the companies merged.
The Sharks' arena revenue is enhanced based on its ownership of advertising rights within the San Jose Arena (dasherboards, in-ice and bench/penalty box advertising as well as Zamboni). The City of San Jose gets 5 percent of the arena's annual gross plus most of the suite and parking revenue, which adds about $1 million to city coffers.
The arena offers terraces for parties. An event hosting 12 people costs $2,100 while 24 fans can be served for $4,200. (Facilities, Financial, Ice Hockey, Professional Sports, Venue)
