2027 USBC Women’s Championships Heads to Charlotte
(SportsTravel) The 2027 United States Bowling Congress Women’s Championship will return to the Charlotte area for the first time in 20 years when New Victory Lanes in Mooresville hosts the national tournament.
The Women’s Championships was hosted in the Charlotte area in 2007. The event typically attracts approximately 16,000 bowlers each year, with competition held daily once the tournament gets underway. New Victory Lanes was the site of the 2019 U.S. Open, won by Canada’s Francois Lavoie.

PBA Announces 2025 Tour Schedule Programming
(SportsTravel) The 2025 PBA Tour schedule will include 14 events and five major championships as well as the PBA Elite League: Battle of the Brands, a competition between bowling ball manufacturers and their sponsored athletes.
The Professional Bowlers Association announced most of its 2025 schedule this week, which includes eight broadcasts on Fox and more than 60 hours televised overall. The remainder of the schedule will be released at a later date.

NAIA Bowling National Championships Heads to Lansing
(SportsTravel) Royal Scot Golf & Bowl in Lansing, Michigan, and the Lansing Sports Commission will host the 2026 and 2027 NAIA Bowling National Championships, the collegiate organization has announced.
The NAIA Bowling National Championship takes place over three days, starting with Bakers Play to determine seeding for the championship bracket. The championship bracket is double elimination, with the top four teams receiving first-round byes.

Pro bowler who was arrested during a tournament gets prison time for child sex abuse material
(Associated Press (AP)) A professional bowler who was arrested while he was competing in a tournament has been sentenced to nearly five years in prison after pleading guilty to charges related to child sexual abuse material.
Brandon Novak, 35, of Chillicothe, Ohio, was taken into custody Feb. 1 by U.S. Marshals at the 2024 U.S. Open Bowling Tournament in Indianapolis.

Lansing to Host NJCAA 2026 and 2027 Men’s and Women’s Bowling Championships
(SportsTravel) Lansing, Michigan, will host the 2026 and 2027 NJCAA Men’s and Women’s Bowling Championships, the collegiate organization has announced.
Over 185 participants will be at the Royal Scot Golf & Bowl in Lansing from March 5-7, 2026, and March 4-6, 2027.
“We are extremely excited to build on the success of the previous NJCAA Men’s and Women’s Bowling Championships we have had the privilege to host and welcome the event back to our region in 2026 and 2027,” said Meghan Ziehmer, executive director of Lansing Sports Commission. “We are looking forward to working alongside our partners in Region 12 and at Royal Scot Golf & Bowl to roll out the red carpet for the student athletes and showcase all our region has to offer.”
