2/3/2025 |  Report: Navy SEAL Unqualified to Lead Tufts Lacrosse Workout That Led to Rhabdo Cases (Athletic Business) A Navy Seal who led a strenuous workout that sent nine Tufts University lacrosse players to the hospital appears to have lacked the credentials to supervise the group exercise. 
The Tuft's men's lacrosse team participated in the workout, which was led a recent graduate of the Boston-area university who was a former lacrosse team equipment manager and current Navy SEAL. The workout resulted in 24 of the 61 participants developing rhabdomyolysis. 
1/21/2025 |  Tokyo to Host 2026 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship (SportsTravel) Tokyo will host the 2026 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship from July 24 through August 2, the first world championship in Japan since 1997.
The Oi Hockey Stadium will be used for the majority of the games in the 16-team championship, with Prince Chichibu Memorial Rugby Ground hosting medal matches and the semifinal round.
1/20/2025 |  U.S., Canada back Haudenosaunee Nationals' bid to compete in 2028 Olympics (United Press International (UPI)) Jan. 17 (UPI) -- The United States and Canada on Friday officially endorsed an effort by the Haudenosaunee Confederacy of indigenous tribes to compete in lacrosse under its own flag at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
The Haudenosaunee Nationals all-star team has been engaged in a quest to compete as a North American tribal nation at the Los Angeles Olympics as the sport of lacrosse is returning to the Olympic stage for the first time since 1908. 
1/16/2025 |  2025 IWLCA Midwest Cup Moves to Denver (SportsTravel) The IWLCA Midwest Cup will move to Denver this summer as Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, home of Major League Soccer’s Colorado Rapids, will host teams from across the Midwest from June 14–15.
“We’re incredibly excited to host the IWLCA Midwest Cup at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Denver,” said Caitlin Schmelz, vice president of lacrosse at Elite Tournaments. “Colorado’s rapidly growing lacrosse community makes it an ideal location to expand the game and foster continued development across the middle of the country.”
12/20/2024 |  Athletes Unlimited shuts down its lacrosse league as the sport’s calendar becomes crowded (Gist Sports, The) On Wednesday, Athletes Unlimited (AU) announced it’s indefinitely suspending its AU Pro Lacrosse league. After jumpstarting opportunities in four sports — softball, basketball, lacrosse, and volleyball — within the past four years, this is the first time the company has suspended operations for one of its leagues.
