  • While its signature traveling model will continue in 2024, the league is laying the foundation to have its franchises settle down eventually.
  • The PLL assigned home cities based on fan voting, broadcast viewership, historical ticketing performance, public census data, and venues.
11/14/2023 |  PLL Announces City-Based Model for 2024 (SportsTravel) The Premier Lacrosse League will switch to a city-based format, announcing eight teams that will be attached to host cities for the league.
Since its inception, the league has featured a touring model where teams all play in one location per week. But after evaluating fan voting, broadcast viewership, historical ticketing performance, public census data and venues, the league opted to attach teams to cities starting in 2024. The cities that will field teams will be:
  • Boston Cannons
  • New York Atlas
  • Philadelphia Waterdogs
  • Maryland Whipsnakes
  • Carolina Chaos
  • Denver Outlaws (formerly Chrome Lacrosse Club)
  • Utah Archers
  • California Redwoods
11/3/2023 |  Premier Lacrosse League Announces Details for 2024 Championship Series (SportsTravel) The Premier Lacrosse League will hold its 2024 Champions Series in Springfield, Virginia, returning to The St. James with a tournament that will follow the Olympic-style sixes format that will be part of the 2028 Olympic Summer Games in Los Angeles.

9/26/2023 |  New Balance Partners with USA Lacrosse (SGB UPDATE)

New Balance partnered into a multi-year agreement with USA Lacrosse to serve as the “Official Apparel Provider” of the National Team Development Program (NTDP).

The agreement runs through the end of 2024 and all NTDP athletes will be outfitted with New Balance apparel for training and competitions. New Balance will also produce co-branded merchandise that will be available for fans to purchase.

“As part of our continued growth in the lacrosse category, we’re excited to partner with USA Lacrosse,” said Doug Liberta, general manager of Team Sports at New Balance. “The USA Select teams are the pinnacle of the National Team Development Program. We value the opportunity to pair our brand with these elite athletes who represent the future of USA Lacrosse.”
