The Biscuits moved from Orlando to Montgomery and a new ballpark in 2004.
The stadium offers 20 luxury suites. Six of the suites are built into the old train terminal along the first base line and the remaining 14 run along the third base line. A children's playground and railroad museum are part of the venue.
The ballpark has only two permanent concession stands, but it will be operating several open-air grills. The idea is to serve fresh food and entice fans to buy more as they smell the food cooking.
The team's name was chosen in a contest. The winner, John (Tripp) Vickers, wrote in his entry, "It's playful and fun, plus who doesn't like Biscuits? All Alabamians like 'em." (Baseball. Facilities, Financial, MinorTeam, Professional Sports, Venue)
