Frontier Field opened in 1996, replacing Silver Stadium which has been torn down to make room for an industrial park. The ballpark has 36 suites which are fully leased. A pavilion was added to the picnic area.
The county received a $4.1 million state grant in 1998 that allowed it to purchase the seats, concession equipment and two scoreboards it leased. The items were leased to reduce the cost of the new $33 million Venue that was already $5 million over budget. In 1999, a roof was added over seats on the first base line.
A free-standing hot tub is available for lease as part of a promotion with a local spa dealer. The cost for eight people is $100 per game.
