The Western Hockey League Warriors are the only professional team playing at the civic center. There are no luxury suites or clubs seats at the facility.
Mayor Dale McBain has formed a committee to begin investigating plans for development and location of a new arena. The city envisions a hockey arena, curling rink, soccer pitch, and walking track.
In May 2005, Nustadia Recreation Inc. was hired to complete a business plan for a new Multiplex and a potential renovation to the Civic Centre to meet WHL Standards. The report called for a 4,500-seat arena with the full project costing CAN$36.3 million based on the 2005 estimate. The research suggested the city make a CAN$10 million investment and that the City of Moose Jaw commit matching dollar for dollar all private and corporate donations up to an additional $5 million.
