Financing
The arena cost CAN$41.22 million, not including land or GST costs. The city paid CAN$31.72 million with the developer paying the balance and being responsible for any operating losses. The Knights formerly played at the Ice House, a 33-year-old, 4,700-seat arena with no luxury suites or club seats.
The London City Council decided that London Civic Centre Corp. should develop a new 9,000-seat arena for the city. The company is made up of Ellis-Don contractors, Stadium Consultants International, an architectural firm, and Global Spectrum, an arena management firm.
