Bridgeview will front the $70 million cost of the 20,000-seat soccer stadium. Pct. public: 100
The Chicago Fire opened a new stadium in suburban Bridgeview in 2006.
The team's operator, Anschutz Entertainment Group, was to pay $15 million toward the cost, but instead the firm will manage the stadium and pay the village $300,000 a year for its use. The team will get stadium revenue from stadium advertising and a percentage of any future naming rights sales. It will share concession, ticket, parking and luxury suite revenue with the village.
Village officials expect to get about $8 million a year in earnings and will use that to fund the expected debt service of $6.5 million to $7 million. (Facilities, Financial, MLS, Professional Sports. Soccer)
