The Portland Timbers became the sole major league tenant of the stadium in 2011 when the team joined Major League Soccer and the Triple-A Beavers left for a new home near San Diego.
Before taking the field, the team did $31 million in renovations to the venue which included a new seating area along the east side of the stadium that runs parallel to the side line of the field and 18th Avenue.
These new seats will have increased leg room and width, with a majority of the new seats covered by a new roof. Approximately 1,144 of the new seats will be premium club seats, with a separate entrance and access to the new KeyBank Club restaurant. (Facilities, Financial, MLS, Professional Sports. Soccer)
