The Single-A Legends opened their new $13.5 million, privately-financed ballpark in 2001.The South Atlantic team moved into a 6,000-seat venue with 24 luxury suites, each seating 24. The ballpark also features a 10-person hot tub in right field.
Bourbon maker Maker's Mark has sponsored a tower outside of center field that will net a charity $100,000 if a Legends player strikes it with a home run. The company also sponsors a restaurant in the venue.
The team and stadium are owned by local businessman Alan Stein who has worked for years to secure a franchise and build the ballpark. He first attempted to get some public money for the stadium, but later opted to build it with his own cash. The ballpark has been built to Double-A standards should the team decide later to move up.
All super club, club, field box and box season tickets are three year contracts which include complimentary playoff tickets and passes to the Maker's Mark Club.
The restaurant boasts an upscale menu that includes appetizers and sit down meals as well as wait service and full alcohol sales. The club can accommodate 145 people, including luxury suite owners and guests. The Maker's Mark Restaurant also is available for banquets, dinners, meetings and private parties
An 8-10 person hot tub is attached to the Pepsi Party Deck. If a home run is hit into the hot tub, fans with hot tub tickets that night will be entered into a drawing to win the hot tub at the conclusion of the season.
The suites lease for $500 per night.
The ballpark features the Norwalk Executive Boardroom, sponsored by a local furniture maker. The cost is $750 per rental and includes 30 luxury suite tickets. The room is available for rental on non-game days for $300.
The Budweiser Stables is an enclosed patio along first base that hosts 80 to 290 fans. Pricing depends upon the amenities, but alone on non-game days it costs $350.
The ballpark also offers hospitality tents of various sizes.
The ballpark itself can be rented for up to three hours for $2,500, giving attendees access to batting cages and equipment. (Baseball, Facilities, Financial, MinorLeagueVenueReport, Professional Sports)
