The ballpark was built in 1989 at a cost of $22 million. In addition to the 18 suites there is also a restaurant. The party suites hold 100 persons each.
PNC Bank bought naming rights in 2006. The three-year deal includes options for annual renewal on the rights.
Revenue will be shared equally with management firm Mandalay Baseball Properties and with the New York Yankees, the team’s major league parent.
Under the agreement, the county is guaranteed $125,000 or 33.33 percent of collected net income before taxes every year, whichever is greater. The other two-thirds will flow to Mandalay and the Yankees.
PNC will have rights to placing ATMs, corporate signs and broadcast advertising throughout the stadium and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees minor league player appearances at bank-related events.
A picnic deck seats 50 to 150 persons and leases for $500 to $1,500 per game. (Baseball, Facilities, Financial, MinorLeagueVenueReport, Professional Sports)
