Financing
The recent $5.8 million stadium renovation was funded with $3.3 million from the Canaries plus the rest from the city.
The team completed a $5.8 million renovation to Sioux Falls Stadium that added 1,500 seats, luxury suites, rest rooms and improved offices. The team paid $3.3 million and the city funded the rest. No tax increase was necessary for the expansion. The updated ballpark seats 4,200 and has nine luxury suites that hold 20 persons each. The suites lease for $17,000 annually on a three-year lease. Suites have a full amenity package including Internet connections.
Other work included a three-tier picnic area in the right field, a kids' playground and new lights.
For the 2001 season, the team added a deck with a hot tub to the ballpark for parties. It costs $18 per person.
