The Bell Centre is home to the NHL Canadiens. The team and venue were sold in early 2001 to George Gillett Jr. for a reported CAN$235 million.
The facility has 135 luxury suites, which include a private rest room, kitchenette and living room. There are also three restaurants, including the 190-seat Air Canada Restaurant. In September 1999, Molson said it was putting the venue up for sale to escape high property taxes. The company also said it was willing to take on a partner in the building to help refinance the debt. To help with the debt, Molson gave up naming rights and they were sold to Bell Canada.
Club seat prices also require a $2,000 yearly license fee based on 4 to 11 year leases. On the longest leases, the annual fee drops to $1,600 per year. (Facilities, Financial, Ice Hockey, NHL, Professional Sports)
