The complex includes a soccer stadium for the MLS Galaxy and Chivas USA and hosts the Pete Sampras Tennis Academy. In all, the venue has a 30,000-seat track and field stadium, a 27,000-seat soccer stadium and the 13,000-seat tennis venue.
The $130 million complex at Cal State Dominguez Hills in Carson is officially called the Home Depot National Training Center. The deal calls for $30 million in building materials to be purchased from Home Depot.
The complex was developed by the Anschutz Entertainment Group which is also considering adding a velodrome for USA Cycling athletes. The San Diego Chargers have agreed to move their training camp to the facility. (Facilities, Financial, MLSMLS, Professional Sports)
