Financing
The $15 million stadium was funded by York County.

The Charlotte Knights have signed a deal to stay in their York County ballpark through 2013, suggesting that plans to build a new venue in Charlotte need more time to mature.
But a deadline has been set to line up financing for a new planned ballpark in Charlotte’s Third Ward.
The Knights currently play in Fort Mill, S.C., but have long wanted to build a ballpark in Charlotte. The county agreed a few years ago to let the team build a venue on county land.
According to the 2008 lease, the team was to have its ballpark nearly complete by September of 2011.
The deal approved by commissioners gives the team more time to get the financing in order and sets up several benchmarks for the Knights to meet.
The team must submit its full financial plan by June 30, 2012 and start construction by October 2012.
The new lease with York County will have the Knights committing parking revenues up to $150,000 annually towards capital improvements to the facility. York County will also commit its share of parking revenues to the capital improvements as well.
The county has already made plans to hire a consultant to study other uses for Knights Stadium, now nearly 20 years old.
The ballpark has a picnic area that leases for $9 to $11 per person depending upon the menu. Tickets are extra.
Game-day luxury suites lease for $300 or $500, depending upon whether an eight or 18-seat suite is chosen. (BaseballMinor, Facilities, Financial, Professional Sports)
