The $9.5 million ballpark was privately financed.

The Cruisers began play in an unfinished ballpark. In March 2010, work on a concourse, 1,250 permanent seats and 1,750 lawn seating was completed along with the picnic area and beer garden.
Once the first season is over, construction on the permanent ballpark would resume – including locker rooms, luxury suites, media center, ticket office and an old-fashioned ticket booth.
Diamond Heroes announced in October 2007 they planned to construct a 3,944-seat ballpark behind the Summit Place mall in Waterford.
The original plan was to use debt-financing to construct the ballpark. The global economic crisis and a new plan was needed and that included selling shares of the ballpark to the public.
Shares were priced at $10 each and sold in blocs of 100, with a maximum of 500,000 shares for sale. The private owners will continue to own the controlling number of shares and will be responsible for team operations. (BaseballMinor, Facilities, Financial, Professional Sports)
