Owners John and Jayne Simmons struggled to get a team to play in the ballpark they planned for Marion.
After initially being rejected by the Midwest League to move the South Ben Silver Hawks to Marion, they convinced the league to change its mind. The move was later blocked by former Indiana Gov. Joe Kernan who has stepped in to buy the team and will keep it in South Bend.
