Steinbrenner Field opened as Legends Field and replaced Red McEwen Field and is also the spring training home of the New York Yankees. The ballpark was built in 1996 and is part of the New York Yankees Baseball Complex. That complex includes three baseball fields (including Steinbrenner), Houlihan's Stadium, a major league practice field and a community field used by Hillsborough Community College.
There are 12 suites and one party suite. One suite is owned by the Sports Authority and another by the Yankees. Each suite has 12 covered outdoor seats. Field boxes hold eight and lease for $5,000 a year including tickets and parking. In addition to the two grills, Little Caesars has a restaurant at the ballpark.
