A renovation of John O'Donnell Park was completed for the 2004 season. The venue hosts the Bandits which contributed $2.8 million toward the work and signed a 15-year lease.
The facility was virtually rebuilt with triple the number of rest rooms, more concession stands and 20 new luxury suites leasing for $20,000 per year. Game day suites are $800 for 12 tickets.
The Single-A team will get half the Naming Rights proceeds if the rights are sold. The rest will be divided equally between a city-managed capital maintenance fund and a future improvements fund.
Previous renovations came in 1989 when seats were upgraded and again in 1996 when the field was replaced. The team was sold in late 1998 to Kevin Krause. Main Street Baseball purchased the team in 2006 and a new lease was signed that extended their stay from 2018 to 2032.
The previous lease with Davenport requires the team to pay $102,684 in rent plus about $415,000 per year toward the costs of stadium renovations done in 2004.
Under the new lease between Davenport and Main Street, payments would be $273,000 for the first three years, and increase to $385,000 annually for the rest of the 25-year lease. A late payment penalty of five percent would be tagged on for missed payments.
The lease agreement with Main Street also includes having “Davenport Day,” featuring half price admission for all Davenport residents, on a set day of the week during the regular season.
A picnic area at the ballpark hosts groups of 25 or more for $12 or $14 per person, depending upon whether box or general admission seating is selected. (Baseball, Facilities, Financial, Minor League, Professional Sports, Venue)
