Financing
The new $15 million ballpark was financed by a one cent sales tax increase approved by voters in November 2001.
Before the venue opened, the Braves added $850,000 in requested upgrades to the ballpark. Those included additional luxury suites and the stadium's club plus improved seats and concession facilities.
The county has insisted on building a capital fund to maintain the venue and will put its share of Naming Rights money into the pot. The Braves have also agreed to put $15,000 into the fund the first six years, $20,000 in the middle six years and $25,000 in the final six years of the 18-year lease.
The split on ticket revenue gives the Braves the first $175,000 and all earnings above $525,000. The county gets a sliding split of the earnings between the two sums.
The ballpark also benefits from low cost lights. General Electric donated $100,000 to the lighting budget of $500,000. The donation covered most of the cost of the lighting fixtures. (Baseball, Facilities, Financial, Minor League, Professional Sports, Venue)
