Financing
The $28 million ballpark was funded through a public-private partnership that included the State of Florida, Pinellas County, the City of Clearwater and the Phillies, who will be responsible for any cost overruns. The team invested $4.5 million.
The new ballpark for the Threshers is also the spring training home of the Philadelphia Phillies. The state-of-the-art ballpark features wide concourses, a sloping berm grass seating in the outfield and approximately 7,000 fixed seats.
The Phillies signed a 20-year lease on the ballpark. The team invested $4.5 million in the cost and paid for construction cost overruns. The city, county and state funded the balance and gets 33 percent of any naming rights revenues. (Baseball, Facilities, Minor League, Professional Sports, Venue)
