Financing
The $8 million stadium was publicly financed.
Seat licenses
PSLs were sold for club seats only when the venue opened. The cost included a $500 one-time payment, a $125 annual payment plus the cost of tickets.
This $8 million, 6,000-seat ballpark is the home of the Generals, formerly the Diamond Jaxx. The city funded the stadium and will also keep revenue from the naming rights sold to Procter & Gamble. This is one of the few AA clubs with personal seat licenses.
Suites lease for $500 per night and include 20 tickets.
The team reached a deal with Jackson officials in 2006 that will keep them in Pringles Park for three more seasons. The city had sought a longer term because it still owes $5 million on the ballpark.
The city will also drop its $1.6 million lawsuit against the team, saying it had terminated its previous lease. The team did agree to pay $500,000 if it wishes to terminate the lease after the 2006 season and $250,000 if it leaves after the 2007 season.
With the lease settled, the current owners, Lozinak Baseball Properties LLC, are expected to continue talks with Overtime Sports of Mississippi about purchasing the team. The team is priced at $12.5 million.
In November 2005, the city rejected a one-year lease plan and it was set to consider a two-year lease with two one-year options. Team officials say they have considered a plan to move to Macon, Ga., if they cannot agree on a lease in Tennessee. City officials say they've had contact from independent leagues who say they may be interested in the venue if the team leaves. (Baseball, Facilities, Minor League, Professional Sports, Venue)
