Financing
Developers raised more than $20 million from local businesses. The rest of the funding for the $63 million venue came from an increase in the hotel-motel tax and a seat tax.
The $63 million Bi-Lo Sports and Entertainment Center opened in September 1998. Naming rights were resold in 2013.
