January 14, 2022 - Boca Raton, FL – SBRnet, a leading provider of data and content on the sports business, is pleased to announce it has received a platinum award in LibraryWorks’ eighth annual
Modern Library Awards (MLAs.)
The MLAs were created to recognize the top products and services in the library industry in a truly unbiased format. Products and services were submitted in the fall using a simple application, and then were posted on a private site with an enhanced description and attendant materials. These products were batched into small groups and sent to the LibraryWorks database of more than 80,000 librarians at public, K-12, academic, and special libraries. Only customers with experience with these products/services in their facilities were permitted to judge the products/services, resulting in a truly unbiased score.
Each judge scored the product on a numeric basis from 1-10 on a series of questions regarding functionality, value, customer service, etc.
“We are so honored to receive this recognition,” said Neil Schwartz, president of SBRnet. “We purchased this business a little more than one year ago and are thrilled that the reaction to our upgraded service has been so well received by librarians, faculty, college students and other non-academic researchers.”
SBRnet, which includes the Sports Market Analytics platform, was founded in 1998 to provide a one stop hub for all forms of data for the sports business including fan behavior, sales of active lifestyle gear, clothing and footwear, and sports participation.
Librarians in more than 230 colleges, including Dartmouth, NYU, Stanford, Emery, Ohio, Syracuse and Washington University subscribe to SBRnet’s service. In the academic market, the data is used by students in sports business, management and certificate programs as well as general business, entrepreneurship and physical education.
The service is especially well known for its annual fan behavior study which measures how sports fans engage with their favorite professional and college teams through attendance, media consumption, betting and fantasy sports.
Jenny Newman, publisher and MLA program manager said, “It’s hardly a surprise that SBRnet scored so well. The new owners have worked hard to upgrade the service and connect with librarians throughout the country.”
