SBRnet is committed to providing students with the most comprehensive array of sports business data available, and we want to provide them with first-hand opportunities to learn the business.
In order to make that happen, SBRnet has started a paid summer intern program and is thrilled to have hired four college students from our subscriber schools to work on data analytics and content development, and social and digital media.
Join us in welcoming them to SBRnet.
Conner Lubinski, Content Development
Conner Lubinski is a member of Ohio University Class of 2023 and is pursuing a dual major in Sport Management and Management & Strategic Leadership.
He is originally from Cleveland, Ohio and grew up with a huge passion for all aspects of the sports world and helping people out. “I was raised in a family of coaches, sports gamblers, and passionate Cleveland sports fans, and I look to follow that path.” Conner is involved in many different organizations and jobs at Ohio University that include the Sports Business Association, the Ralph and Luci Schey Sales Centre, Emerging Leaders, and also helps with game day operations for the athletic department in each sport. “With each different organization, I am involved in different teams that include the marketing committee, the Exsell team, and the philanthropy team. My future plan is to attend graduate school at Ohio University right after I obtain my bachelor’s degree as I am still looking into the specific area of the sports world that I would like to work in the future.”
Conner is already hard at work developing our new Sports Business Resource Center, which will launch late this summer.
Alex Borelli, Data Analytics
Alex Borelli is a sophomore Sport Analytics major at Syracuse University. He has previously interned for the XFL in a data analysis role and writes for Take A Number, a Substack newsletter he founded that focuses on advanced analytics in baseball. He also founded the Fantasy Sports Club at Syracuse University where he currently serves as the vice president. In addition, Borelli has worked alongside a professor this semester as a research assistant for a fantasy football project that focuses on optimizing daily fantasy football lineups. Alex is motivated and passionate about sports analytics and is looking forward to his role as Data Management and Analysis Intern for SBRnet this summer.
Alex is a star at creating visuals that makes data easier to understand. You will see examples of his work shortly.
Preston Klaus, Data Analytics
Preston Klaus is a rising senior Sport Analytics Major at Syracuse University. He is the president of the SU Basketball Analytics Club and has a special interest in the NBA Salary Cap. He spent last summer working within a college basketball database and currently is a co-host on the Numbers Guys Podcast.
During his interview, Preston referred to himself as “a data wrangler,” and thus far he has been true to his word, taking the orneriest of data sets, wrestling them to the ground and turning them into tidy packages. His talent and hard work will soon be evident to all our subscribers.
Quentin Alleyne, Digital and Social-Media Director
Quentin is a current MBA and MS in Sports Management student at George Washington University. He has past experience in sports marketing and sports media production, working for Elite 8, Ithaca College, and Grace Church. He is an avid NFL and NBA fan.
If you have students who you’d like to recommend for future internships, or if you’d like us to post our job listings at your school, please contact Mark Sullivan at mark@sbrnet.com
Think about recommending one of your students for next year’s intern opportunities. Both me and Neil are so impressed with the quality of students that have been send out way so far. In many ways, I wish that we had room for all of them.
